hello all.
I have not post here for a long while. I learned how to build my first PC few yrs ago and set up router and wifi for home devices for internet etc. Last week my desktop computer with Windows 10 pop up with a message and phone number telling to call to resolved the problem. It says my computer counter a illegal accessed and required attention. My computer screen provided the phone number to call. So, I called the phone number and spoke with a guy he is from Armor Tech Inc. I told him I am having this message on my desktop computer and the Windows 10 Edge browser locked out. I was on the phone with him and he guide me thru and do a remote diagnostic on my PC and found out that all my fire wall has been turned off. I did not realized my firewall and all security has been turned off. After much diagnosed and he told me that look like some one has access to my IP address and this is bad. He said, this person can watching me doing financial purchase, bank information etc. After a long talk with him over the phone and he sound legit . He told me the resolution is to create a new secure IP address and install new security feature in to my computer with a initial cost. I went with it. I am now on a private network and on their server. My computer is working correctly and I no longer getting any more strange locked up stuffs before this network changed over. Over all I am happy with it.
Now my question is. What about my wifi password? How can I change the password? For example. my wifi password were 12345 and I used it to connect my tablet etc. I have a few devices that still using the wifi. I like to change it but how??
Also, How or how complicate to change my original IP address? I am on Spectrum Cable ((know as Timer Warner Cable before) Please give me some advices. Thank you.
