I just purchased a 20gb Ipod, actually as a christmas present but it turns out the persons computer does not have a firewire port. Whats the best solution for this? USB2.0 Cable? Firewire card?

The newer iPods have support for USB also.

If it is one of hte older ones then yes you need a Firewore card, there pretty cheap.

no this is actually a third generation ipod, i was just curious about the speed diffrence between a UsB2.0 and a Firewire that comes standard with an Ipodl

they are very close in speeds. usb uses slightly more cpu cycles, but its bootable. dont know how useful that is with a ipod though. you wont notice a difference in speed bewteen the two. the best thing about the usb though is it works for both usb 1.1 and 2.0, of course regualr usb 1.1 is slow
