HI I have a Antec Trueblue 480w PSU. I also have a Thermaltake XaserIII with the fant controler that comes wth it.

My 1st question would just quickly if Iwas to change my Fan controller which should I get or even just point me towrads a brand which is well recommended?

My second question is about the Fan only power cables on this particualr PSU. Why are they fan only what makes them different to teh others. The reason im asking is that my case has 7 fasn and my PSU has has only 2 of these connectors. So is it worth me going through the trouble dasiy chaining my fans to fit them on?.

When daisy chaining does it actually halve the power to the fans causing them to run slower than normal?.

Finally I wanted to ask about my current setup with the power. As I mentioned I have seven fans to my fan controller which has four controllers. There are two fans per controller and 1 on teh fourth one. I am actually powering the fan controler with teh Fan onlt cables, I just wanted to know is this a good idea or should I be doign it differntly?

Thanks for any help.

i cant answer all your questions, but i believe fans dont take up much of anything, and chaining them would be ok, or good, keep them away from your HD's lines

you should only connect up to 3 fans per fan-only header, as per antec's spec's. Daisy chaining is fine, no issue there.

no, it doesn't halve the power. all components get the same amount of power.

Umm the fan only connectors control the fans speed depending on temp, by not giving them full power, i'm sure it goes no lower than about 7v or so. But it does lower the power, and slow them down.

So if the fan only controls temperature then would it make a difference if
use the fan only to power the Fan controller or would the temp chainging facility effect it?

Thanks

It shouldn't have a effect on it, all it does is adjust speed based on temp in the case or off diodes placed somewhere.

I have the same PSU! i never knew that those "fan only" connectors were temp controlled. Is there a mod to full speed them?
