You may be confusing PAT with GAT. PAT is Performance Acceleration Tech from Intel. It doen't work consistantly on the 865 chipsets like you have in your AI7. GAT _ Game Accelerator Tech - is memory control enhancments supplied by Abit. They work at any speed, but, depending on your memory, may or may not offer any benefit to you

eitherway if you using 4x256, pat won't work and GAt won't work once you go over mem spec
