a virus???? what kind of virus i run AVG nearly every night. and there is no file that i could find that is even near that big. its just odd cause ill restart my pc and then ill be back up to 67 gigs (my hd is 80gig) i have AVG 7.5 updated it runs every week and never finds anything soo i dunno. weird ay

Well something is obviously wrong. Have you check-disked the drive? If so what does it say? Used one of the utility others have mentioned in your previous threads to see what exactly is taking up space? Scanned the drive with something other than POS AVG?

do you really need to share your c drive? its normally shared as c$ anyway for admin purposes, where only the admin account can log in.

might want to run a root kit reveler like

if you have run treesize and can't find any file or files taking up the space the files are being hidden from the OS and therefore you.

2 things to do. run CCleaner to get rid of the temp files next make sure some thing cookey (spokey/crazy) hasnt possessed the page file and its become a lovely 50gb.

This sounds more like a memory leak more than anything else. Go to the Processes tab in Task Manager and look at the Mem Usage column and see if anything is showing up as using lots of memory or if the memory amount just keeps growing and growing for a particular application.

man i really dont know this is freakin weird. should i like reinstall windows or somethin? shoot, its hard to do stuff when you have to restart your stupid computer every hour or so. i think my hard drive feels like bein an *** i geuss ill check for leaks or somethin and ill do some scan disk crap. righton guys thanks for the advice

ok so i did the checkdisk and ran avast antivirus and ad-aware, yet it is STILL doing it. i even ran that microsoft program thing nothing happened. its all the same. i think i just need to like reinstall windows or something. stupid windows.

Thats wierd. Truely I doubt its really filling the HDD up. If you say you loose 70gig in an hour thats quiet fast. While it will be filling the HDD up at a pace of ~ 20meg a sec.

Is opening programs slow? Windows slow when loading? Is the harddrive even have a constant light on?

I'd say its a virus/worm thats making windows think the drives full but its not.
