Is it worth upgrading my i5 3330 to a 2600?

I recently bought an old i5 based gaming PC that you'll see in my signature. I use it to play games such as GTA 5 and COD Infinite Warfare. I'm really keen on FPS games in general and I play with a 60Hz 1080P monitor. Is it worth upgrading to an i7 2600? I won't be overclocking since I have an H61 chipset and don't want to replace the motherboard as well.

In maybe 6 - 12 months I'm planning on upgrading the video card to something with at least 6GB VRAM and I'll then upgrade to a 1440p monitor at the same time.

Not really.

The (slightly) higher IPC per clock on the 3330 more or less balances the clock difference. FPS don't make use of hyper threading.

the 780 is still a very capable card@1080p (should max everything with a 15/20% OC on the GPU).

Not worth upgrading the CPU on a H61 chipset. Better wait and go for a full platform upgrade.
