is my first build ok?

Hey guys, im a first time at building gaming cp's. So to cut things short I dont want to spend anymore than $1600, i already have mouse,monitor & keyboard, I want to play games (DayZ) at high end with no problems, oh and I pretty much want all my hardware to be black in colour (just for aesthetics). I have done some research and would like some opinions on my build, it would be greatly appreciated.

Unless your going to replace your planned GPU with a bigger card and going SLI in the future, the same 650 HX would be just fine, even a 550 with no SLI is enough.

Looks like a good rig to me. Most of those parts have received plenty of favorable reviews. Every single one of Conumdrum's tips are spot on. Knowing that you're staying in a budget, dropping the unneeded cpu cooler, and buying a mobo that meets your needs (rather than greatly exceeding them), should give you plenty of wiggle room a more modern gpu.

A great mobo I would look at is the:
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

It's $100 cheaper and would more than meet your needs still. Sleek black with gold accents, and the egg is even offering free 8GB ram with purchase.

hey thanks guys, awesome help =) i was talking to someone today and they said i should go 16GB of RAM if I was going to play large games like DayZ, are they right? or will 8Gb suffice?

• What are you planning to do with this compuer? Please be as specfic as possible.

• What is your budget?
  
  1. Does this include a copy of Windows?
  2. Does this include peripheals (a keyboard, monitor, mouse, speakers, etc.)?
• Are you from the United States or a different country? Are you ordering from your own country or from across borders?
  
  1. Wherever you may be from, does the store that you are planning to order from have a website? It's okay if it isn't in English, we can manage.
  2. If you are from the United States, do you live nearby a Microcenter?

• Do you have any specific requests with the build?
  
  1. Do you plan on overclocking? If yes, do you have a specific goal in mind?
  2. Would you prefer the build to be particularly small?
  3. Would you prefer the build to be particularly quiet?
  4. In general, do you prefer this to be a computer that you can spend money on now and let it rest, or a box built for continuous upgrading?
  5. Do you ever plan on utilizing NVIDIA's SLI or AMD's CrossfireX technologies? These features, with a compatible motherboard, allow a user to link multiple identical graphic cards together for added performance. In real world terms, this lets you buy a second identical graphics card down the line as a relatively cheap and easy way to gain a fairly large boost in performance. However, this requires buying a SLI/CFX compatible motherboard and PSU now, which may result in slightly higher initial cost.

Not knowing what you are doing with the pc, other then gaming I would suggest the following changes. If you aren't planning on Sli'ing the gpu's 650w is plenty. I second the recommendation on the ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 board and with the saved money get a GTX 670 gpu. Also if you are planning on getting the Samsung SSD it's on sale today at tiger direct for $69.99

I would say change the Mobo and the Ram, due to issues and problems? Ditto with the other members on the thread Asrock z77 Extreme 4 Board and Corsair 1600 ddr3 Ram. Best of luck with your build from OCF and AJ.
