well things in wiki can be edited and it was not worded the same way. either way, the only way to get true info about PCIE/PCIE 2.0 is to go to the "standards" site. sign up and hope they let you look at the specs.

none the less i dont remember things like i use to, since tring to figure out how to fix up my cars...

do you remember the chipset... was it an intel 9X5 (945 most likely) or VIA, or Nvidia chipset?

the short story, the card you have will be fine. at most that card need 1x-2x bandwidth, you got 4x, you would be good up to a 9600GT card.

now it makes sense, i knew that 945 supported 16x... what they did was tap into the second set of lanes for only 4x. that board would be this one to offer 16x/4x for a cf setup.

pretty much the same layout used with different chipset on it, makes it cheaper in the long run to do it this way for them.

intresting... looks like they completly didnt use the 16x lanes directly from the NB (the empty solder points lead to this) and instead used a 4x connection to the SB which has a 4x connection to the NB but that 4x connection between the NB and SB is shared by EVERYTHING lol.
