Hi, first time here and was wondering if you could answer a question i have about 2 heatsinks i found.

I would like to know if there is a difference and which one you would recommend.

1. This is the Sun Flower rated fairly well by "Overclockers"

http://www.coolerextreme.com/avcsuncoolfo.html

2.Here is the other one i found almost excatally the same.

http://www.pcpowerandcooling.com/products/cooling/cpu/cpu_cool/cpucool_478_index.htm

Only noticed 3 differences 1. No 45degree angle in heatsink
2. 10$ difference in price
3. And the cheaper one has a 5year
warranty

Thanks in advance for your help!

The power consumption of the sunflower is a little more. 400mA * 12V (4.8W) vs. 300mA * 12V (4.0W) for 0.8W difference. What this means?.... The 478 is either more efficient, or cfm or rpm might vary. Probably, the sunflower kicks out more 33cfm than the other.

The dimensions appear to be the same, at least in the pictures.

Also, the thermal resistance might be different, with the 0.3 C/W vs. the 0.358 C/W. Accuracy is indicated by numbers. The sunflower would be rounded to 0.4, not 0.3, if it were to be rounded. I would say, from the numbers, the 478 is a little more efficient/effective, but with numbers that close, and with varying accuracy, they could be estimated at pretty similar. Numbers aren't always what they seem anyway.

What's the difference? Not much it seems. Take the one you think is a better deal. PC power and cooling has a pretty good reseller rating too. And yes, welcome.

Thanks for all your help!!

I am going to buy the 478 one for $19.00 free shipping.

Gotta love free shipping.
