Is there a real need for these with Full Water Cooling?

Im not sure what the kind of loop has to do with making this choice...

But.. regardless their use is your choice. There isn't a 'need' for them, that is for certain. If you want them and are curious though, go get 'em!

Well, I had to ask :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
This is my first full water cooling setup, I was checking to see if it is a must :D
 
That temp probe will add another restriction so at least you can measure the drop off with the flow meter.
Maybe get some led strips that do chase patterns.... Pointless but may look more important :D
 
I don't need any more restrictions :D The blue LED's on the CPU water block represents "COLD" and the red LED's on the GPU Bridge is for the Red Team :clap: YEAH! :thup:
 
You don't NEED them but its nice to have. I have temp probes (not restrictive) and a flow sensor. Without them I'd be lost since I like to know the state my loop is in and an average estimate where my Delta-Temps lie. Atm I have almost no flow whatsoever thanks to my indication from my flow sensor. Without it I probably wouldn't have noticed the degradation of the flow. Now I know thanks to it.

I like gadgets, the more the merrier and can be great tools if things go wrong before they become obvious to the human eye. ;)

I like my little flow meter. No idea the GPM as I can't count rotations that fast, but I know when water is moving and when it's slower than it should be.
BTW, this type of meter has seriously low restriction, but they aren't cheap...I made the booked walnut face, so you won't be finding that anywhere. :D
 
Thanks Jack and Diggrr, Your explanation really hits the nail on the head :) I'm interested in flow rate on TigerSun, I could do it the old way with a 5 gallon bucket and a stop watch but I'll have water all over LOL
I'm reading temps with Real Temp and AIDA64 Extreme, yet water temp may be helpful while running benches and gaming. Very good info guys Thanks TJ :)
 
Hey Diggrr, Is this the Flow Sensor your showing in the pic?
The Bitspower G1/4 Thread Flow Sensor is a great way to install a safety valve into your looping loop. Just install this flow sensor into your cooling loop and connect the rpm cable on your motherboard CPU fan header. Once installed the flow sensor will send the RPM signal to the mainboard thus allowing you to utilize the BIOS safety settings. These can also be used on fan controllers and other RPM sensing devices as well!

Mine is an industrial flow indicator by Gems. The one pictured is the 155420, .5-5.0 GPM model with 1/4" fittings that I retapped for G1/4.
It's larger than the pic portrays, that front window is 2" across.

I have tiny magnets and an appropriate Hall effect sensor, thinking of making my own RPM sensor for it for the fan header. I have their PDF chart showing GPM .vs RPM....

I bought a pair of these ages ago from the forum classifieds, one 1/4" and one 1/2", before bitspower was a brand name ;)
 
I have a spin flow meter that I got for free in a purchase. Even though I have it where I can see it from my desk I never really look at it. Just know that your rig will shut down I your temps get too hot. That's a good indication you pump is not working!
