I have a P. Pro 200@233 that I got up and folding again recently. It was doing a couple of WUs a week last summer. It has been working on the same WU now for almost a week! Is it just this protein? Am I over the time limit?

I think you get 9 days to complete that specific protein and it looks as though it will turn it in on time.

Hey Ploaf, where do yall get that foldmonitor? I've heard you guys refer to it in the past, but I thought you were refering to something incorporated in that text version. Btw, Is the text version any quicker than v.2.15? That is the version I'm running right now w/ the screensaver, but I disabled the screensaver cause I saw some ppl commenting that it made a little difference in the speed. Plus, does the text version run on most windows platforms?

The text version does run on most windows platforms. You can usually run it when the gui client fails to run properly. You're not going to notice a big speed boost running the text based client. The best reason for running it is that it seems to be mroe stable. If you're not having stability problems then I'd just keep it the way you have it. :)
When you download foldmonitor be sure to download the .exe version. There are other versions there and one version requires that you have perl installed before it will work.

The proteinA and it's variants are huge protiens. MY Tbird 1Ghz takes about 22-26 hours to complete one.

Hey guys, thanx. I'll check it out.
Dragonbud, Nice avatar! You seem to be leaving me in the dust lately. Enjoy it while it lasts!:D

Yep, I name all of my computers...

Besides Grimace, the others are:

Elmo, currently down,
Viking, a Duron 750
Supercase, an Athlon 1.3
Celery, celeron 333
and p120, yep, you guessed it, a p120

I've got a p166 that has made the deadline before. It's been folding now for about 4 weeks and has turned in 3 wu's. I believe they all made their deadlines. Very close though;)

I have tried to get a Winchip 180MHz folding - but after leaving it for a few days, and foldmonitor predicted finishing the WU in a month!

I have a p120 hanging about, I might see if I can set it up in a system..

I also have a Duron 650 - just need a mobo & PSU.

Something comparible to a P166 at least :D
Might switch it over to Genome@Home - do we have a team for that?

Doesn't everyone name their boxen? C'mon - be honest, now ... "Lousy piece of junk" doesn't count. :p

Traditionally, my rig has been Hal, but I'm thinking of a new name for the pending move to a full tower case - Lurch. The wife's rig was Hol for a long time, but is now Igor ("Eye-gore" ... any other Mel Brooks fans out there?). :D

I suppose I should update my sig to show the boxen names.

It's the corporate boxen I feel for ... they don't get names - they get numbers. ;)
