Abit VH6/Celly 533A@896 1.7V Was working flawlessly for 4 months, all of a sudden the system spontaneously rebooted and at post, says "CPU unworkable or has been changed". I change the CPU settings back to default and I get several spontaneous reboots, same error. I pull the CPU and put it into another Abit board, same error so it's probably toast. Oh well.

Then I install another Celly (566) into the VH6, clear the CMOS and turn it on. Nothing. I wait a few minutes, clear CMOS again, even pull the battery, no post, no beeps, nothing but the power light on the front. Pulled the 566, test on another board, it's fine. Back into the VH6, check all connections/cables, clear CMOS again and still no post, same as before.

Does this sound like the mobo has taken a hike as well? Anything else I should try?

The "CPU is unworkable or has been changed" error is caused by NOT having "Speed error hold" to disabled. Set Speed Error Hold to disabled and that error will go away. It won't help the spontanious reboots though.
