Is it safe to hook up fans by splicing them into a power cable, splicing the red wire into the yellow wire on the power cable and the black wire into the black wire next to the yellow one on the power cable?............... thx

And cover your connections up with electrical tape or heatshrink. You wouldn't want your 12v line grounding out on anything. :p

This is how 4-pin fans are connected and I've reqired several older bare lead fans to a molex connecter.

I wouldn't be putting to many on one cable. One Cable should be able to hold atleast 4-5 fans though. Just no Juice Drainers.
