I downloaded a video in avi format and its takin up way too much space so im tryin to delete it. The sucker wont go away. I tried restarting but it still says it is being used. I also tried editing it once which didnt go so well but this is the original i never resaved it. Please if you know any ideas of how to get rid of this stupid thing it would greatly be apreciated.

yo...reboot after bios display press f8 to choose what mode to run in......choose safe mode, after windows boots just delete it

Open up notepad and delete the file from there. Sounds corny but it works.

DOS is a great way to delete files like that where windows wont let you delete it but you need/want to.

That's crazy...I just had the same problem yesterday. I downloaded 2 avi movies and none of them would delete. I rebooted twice, tried ending a few of the proccesses but I couldn't get them to go. Finally, I just dragged the files to the recycle bin and they were gone.
