- RPM

get a better HSF.........SLK-900 seems to be good, heh. I'm running mine at 1.7 vcore at 2150 mhz with a Thermalright AX-7 and a mechatronics 3500 rpm 80mm fan. My STOCK voltage/speed was 36C at load....right now i'm 42C at load.

But, the only thing that will really help your temps is better ambient temps. Your processor will only be as cool as the air around it. If your room is 90F, then your processor is going to be 90F when it's off........it will only go up from there.

The only thing that will help if you just CANT change the ambient temps is ice-water or LN2 cooling.....and then you run into the problem of condensation.

If the room is like mine, where central air doesn't reach it, hehe, your solution might be a window-mounted AC unit, heh....

53 is nothing. My 1700 sits at 60+ under full load, with an AX7 +80mm fan. My 8K3A reads the internal sensor on the XP, thus giving a higher (but more accurate) reading. Most boards use an external sensor which can be 10-15c out of the true temperature

Hmm.. I just got an XP2700+ for my 8k3a and I noticed my temps were a little on the high side.. Its good to hear that this is normal.
