man i don't know about all y'all ( ya should know by now that is redneck for "everybody") but it is getting hot down here in Florida. i'm in my swimtrunks (bathing suit) no shirt, bare feet, and trying to to keep my rigs cool!
i'm checking the wife regularly to see if see has broke out in a swet yet. she won't let me turn the air conditioning on so i can cool these rigs ,(bet all y'all thought i was going to say for another reason) first drop of swet i see the air is on and set at 60F , hell make that 38F then i can crank these things back up! i've had to turnem down to fact-o-ree settings. this is borrrrr-ing!!!!
so , hows your weather-------Treating your rigs? by the way what would be the max temp i should run my 940d, and socket 478 2.8ghz ht at? my 940 has been running @3680mhz 25-29c my 478 has been running @ 3.2 34-41c
now they are 478 @49c 940 @ 38c

I know what you mean, it started getting hot here in atl around the end of last week :bang head Hopefully it'll cool off again soon though because I'm tired of running these a/c units 24/7, but that's why none of my rigs are running any hotter than normal :)

ok strye, rub it in why don't ya!!!!

yeah, go ahead rub it in, we have white stuff here too, i grab a 12-pak , a blanket, and a frisbee then i go lay down on the blanket, drink beer, and watch half naked girls walk by for hours or until my wife catches me looking!!! it's called a beach!!!! READ my lips errrr.... signature below:beer:

Well it feels like its less than 10c here, and the heating is bust!!

On the bright side there is now chance of my rigs overheating!

well now i have something else to be depressed about, i just had my first 1100 rac and i moved from being firmly entrenched in the team top 30 to barely in the top 30!!!!
i had my biggest day of rac and i moved BACKWARDS!!
how depressing is that! it's so hot i can't leave my rigs oc'd unattended i was at 56C yesterday and back em down. i think i'm going to need to watercool !!!!!

at 56c ambient, forget watercooling. for those you need atleast peltier.

I don't think he meant ambient (ouch), I think he meant one of his rigs was running at 56C. Come to think of it, I can't think of a CPU where 56C is not OK, but it's a matter of preference I suppose.

global warming strikes :O

anyway, outside my room(so outside) its around 10c, inside my room the temp has gone up to 30c(little 2x3meter room and i have my windows closed, dunno why)

and all that because of my computer, hell who needs a heater anyway

uk? heat?

i was up there a month ago and 28F felt like -20F. where in uk are you from, i have a sister in law errr ex sister in law in Dumbarton, Scotland.

o, thought he ment ambient. might be impossible though unless you live in a valcano.

Just moved to switzerland and was all happy because my house is only a 15 minute drive to the alps and I was like "Yay new meaning to arctic cooling" But so far it never got below 50f here, never below 60f in my room with heat off, window and skylight open.

that must be cool!

living 15 mins from alps, WOW! i wish i could complain about temps while looking out my window at the alps! must be a beautiful way to complain.
" man it's too hot, (wait a minute let me move to the window so i have a view, there, thats better) man, it's too hot and the alps are too.....too.... beautiful to not be complaining about something!
by the way , what would be a high temperature limit for a 940d ? @ intel website i read 39C in one doc after 1.5 hours of searching.

Here in sweden we have a beginning winter right now. It's -2 celsius
outside. Great for the rigs. Close the door to the room housing the farm and
open the window just 2 inches. Perfection.

Dont know why 39c is to hot for a cpu. @ 40c heat starts interfering with elctricity a little so you loose an effective 1- 1 1/2 mhz, even though cpuz and stuff wont pick it up. but 1mhz isnt going to hurt anything really. read it in an article a little while ago, can find it now.

at intel.com i read that 39c is max limit you should allow for 900 series cpu's i'm trying to keep them down but i'm not sure why i suddenly had temp surge. i increased voltage to 1.4 so i could get up to 3840mhz but also added second 7600gs too.had to go back down to 3566, don't quite understand the whats and whys of these things yet and how they effect the rest of the system but were working on it in the other forums right now, just having hard time finding others with p5n32sli deluxe mobo. who maybe have had some experience with this problem.

yeeehaaaaw!

it's going down into the thirties tonight, That's right 34 f to be exact. does that mean i get to open my widow 2 " like all ya'll up north to keep my rigs cool?:santa:
