am i reading this right??

wow

im getting ready to upgrade some parts, and a new video card is on the list....... its REALLY tempting ..... but a ti4400 looks tempting also, im going to give it a month before the vid card upgrade though... t-bred/vidcard(whichever vidcard it may be)

well if you look at the product link it is not Gigabyte that claims it is an LE but it is newegg....so im guessing that newegg labeled it as an LE because it isnt made by Ati.....

'bout time ATI put some proper cooling stuff on a card.......sheesh my 8500 has a teensy little fan and that's it ..... how 'bout some ram sinks and a real fan ATI?

Please forgive me, but i dont see any difference between this card and a normal "built by ATI" Radeon except for the ramsinks. I heard that the gigabyte radeons were going to have better ram, is this the case, or was that just a rumor.

your forgiven :)

I have not heard anything about this card having better ram so I do not know anything about that... but it looks cool.. I posted this because this had created a lot of buzz, with the added ramsinks, hardware monitoring, maybe a better quality fan?, i don"t have one and I am not going to purchase a new vidcard for at least a month, I am going to wait for the t-bred for an upgrade....but

It does look cool though... :) just mho

It says LE, but its also says 275 MHZ core, with 550 mhz ddr. What is "limited" about this card?

If you look it also says that on the other cards there as well. Thats the "chipset info" what the chip is supposed to have. Iv read several reviews on it, and most of them said it was 275, but one said 250.

They did say that i has the 3.6ns RAM though, so nothing special there.

Gigabyte Maya 8500's

AP64D and AP64D-H... same as Radeon 8500LE vs Radeon 8500. I think they both use 3.6ns ram, and have the same video connectors, harware-monitoring and game bundles. The LE version is clocked at 250/500. The AP64D-H will sell for $100 more than its LE little brother.

Interesting stuff:

2 small 2-pin fan headers for fans that can be controlled by V-tuner software(3 speed settings).

Massive sinks on both sides of the card.

Monitoring for core/memory voltages and temps.

Red PCB. Bigger than Ati's reference design.
