first i want to thank all the people responsible for producing one of the best sight on the net......i have come to the right place. the question that i have to ask you all ...what is the CORRECT procedure to do a complete fresh install of windows xp professional with this motherboard using scsi disks? no ide, disabled in the bios presently running windows 98 and when i installed that o.s. ,i had to temporally enable the ide controllers to install the via drivers.....is this the case with xp??? i know about setting everthing at default and booting off the cdrom.etc, but should i just enable my ide channels like windows 98???? please a answer to this question would be greatly appreciated......thank you.
Hi and welcome to the forums.
So what you are asking is how to install windows XP onto SCSI drives? No problem.

I think that you should be able to just disable IDE in the BIOS. Boot off of the XP CD and it should recognise your SCSI disks, or prompt you to set them up. Give that a shot, feel free to post back here or PM/email me if it doesn't work.
