Ok im going to buy this board soon but i still need some info before buying it.
This board will be my first raid mobo and i am not sure if i am able to use it. Right now im running 2 20.gig ultra 66 HDD in my system. I heard it is possible to run raid with 2 hdds that are at the same speed i.e ultra 66. What are the benifits of having raid and how much does it actually speed up my computer FPS wise in games or 3dmark2000-1.
Thanks

You'll get minor improvements running your 2 20 gig HD's in RAID. They won't be huge, because your onboard RAID controller steals CPU cycles to do the data segmentation. If you don't want to lose any capacity, set them up in RAID 0 with each drive on a different controller channel (i.e., one on IDE3 and one on IDE4). This will yield the best performance. Your stripe size is also important but this is up to you, as I have no idea what kind of file sizes you're working with.
