Trashing an original Pentium(Dell Dimension XPS200). Going with Iwill KK266, T-bird 750, Crucial PC133 (128Mb,Cas2), Alpha Pal, new case and swapping other updated components from Dell machine. Also, have never built from scratch before. A number of questions for you most knowledgeable people!

Have had many computers, never one with RESET, what is it and when do I use it?

What is the SmBus connector and what does it connect to?

I have seen many here refer to the Via 4:1 drivers and where to get them; would they be included on the installer CD?

Thats all for now; I am sure I'll have more after all my components arrive.

Thanks in advance!

reset is for a soft re-boot restarts machine 4 in 1 drivers can be gotten off the via web site not sure what the Smbus is but i don't use it...lol

Good choice of a system. The via drivers 4.25 are on the disc. Install them as soon as you install the OS. There are newer drivers 4.28/4.29beta on the web. Not sure you will need them though
