Heres the link http://www.sun.com/ Its sun Microsystems, they had a dispute with microsoft a while ago and so they aren't part of windows anymore cause microsoft couldn't monopolize them :p hehe

Just click on the first "box" style link on that page on the lower right portion of the page, says "Java get it now (free)" or something like that, thats all you need :) and stuff should work fine again.

Hmm thats weird, thats the same spot I got mine from. Heres a link to the download page where you can get the JRE and/or SDK file for whatever your OS is. http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/download.html I believe all you need is the JRE (Java Runtime Engine), and not the SDK(Sun's Development Kit), I needed the SDK only cause I'm taking Computer Science and learning to program Java right now. Hopefully those downloads won't freeze, if cliking on them doesn't work, maybe try right clicking and save target as? hope that solves your problem, Its such a pain that its this way now, I didn't have an opinion either way about microsof til after this, cause by messing up tehre relations with sun, now its causing inconveniences and problems for windows users.

You can also still find the MS version of the Java VM (albiet an older version) from any of the following sites...

ftp://ftp.uni-stuttgart.de/pub/systems/win95/fixes/VM/msjavx86.exe

ftp://ftp.visualware.com/pub/java/msjavx86.exe

http://www.dreamscape.co.kr/bbs/data/3/msjavx86.exe

http://www.visualware.com/support/javasupport.html

http://www.abxair.com/software/downloads.htm

http://www.krm.com/techsupport/tech-downloads_mvm.html

You'll need to update to the latest version of the VM (3809) after installing one of the earlier versions from any of the above sites...the latest version can be installed via Windows Update. ;)
