Hey, good luck with that, man. I just built my first computer not too long ago (the one in the sig) and I'm just about done OCing it. If you need help, be sure to ask here, we're all glad to help, especially a first timer.

My biggest peice of advice: DONT TOUCH THE INSIDE OF THE COMP WHEN ITS ON!!! I tried to plug in a floppy when my comp was on, and not only did i plug it in wrong (the 5v line somehow got connected to the ground), I fried my SLI mobo!!! luckly RMA took care of that, but it still sucked.

That CBBHD should OC pretty well, but your RAM will probably have to suffer for it, seeing as its only PC3200. the TCCD chips should help though.

You going with the DFI SLI board? What else are you getting?

I'm going with the ultra-d board. Thanks for all the help and support Iwill be asking questions in the future. I do not want to post waht else I am getting as of yet since I want it to be a surprise and i will post it when It does arrive. Btw i thought tccd ram is the best for overclocking an a64 thats what i read in the sticky posted by deception

OMG, all these pics brings me back to when I built my first baby (see sig). It makes me want to make another! :( It kind of sucks that I bought a s754 CPU as I want to get an SLI board, but cant because I need a s939 CPU. :(

BTW, how do you find out the stepping before you buy a CPU?

Some places will advertise the stepping or gaurentee that you get a certian stepping, but these places are usually a bit more expensive. If the stepping isn't advertised it is all about how friendly/board/good the store is. Some places will look for a stepping for you, some won't bother to take the time, and a lot of them will say "stepping? what's that? it's a 3200+"

Can you tell what stepping you have by the Manufacturer #?

Oh nvm, it has it on the CPU itself....

LOL yea man its so much fun taking pics. I can't explain all of the technical stuff but I will learn and grow as this thread grows :) I'm going to be performing a leak test soon on my watercooling kit so i'm going to post that up with pics also. :) Im not sure how to check your steppings tho cuz they just picked a random 3200+ oem for me from the shelf :p

:) Looks Great, Really Great gonna be a really good rig, but one thing though your xbox looks a bit dusty?! :bang head

What does the XBox have that a computer can use??

Haha, I only built the system in my sig about a month ago. The only bad thing is that I skimped on the power supply and have to settle for a 2.2ghz overclock. I almost have enough for the new OCZ 420W...

420 isnt enough for OCing XP's, you need a solid 500+ watts to get high clocks on an XP, especialy with that 5900 sucking down the juice...

AlanD911 looks like your having fun dude, good luck!

That isnt ture , My mobile ran @ 2.6ghz with manny crappy psu's It ran like a dream on the psu in my sig and that same psu powers my a64 no problem and my x800 . It is about quality rails

Ok I have a new update I just completed the loop and had abit of difficulty running the powersupply without it being connected to the motherboard BUT i found out how to remedy this with a little online search and I grounded off the green wire on the IDE powersupply cable to a black one. I also am running an overnight leaktest using distilled water here are some pics so far I will update with more in 2 minutes
