I've been reading all i could find on oc for some time and i think I'm ready for my first attemt. My problem is that pb made my comp. with intels mu440ex\lx mobo, the only way to oc is by by j8e1 conf.(moving the jumper )and rebooting.i was informed that my 366 is 5.5 but can be jumpered to 6x inside.I'm sure i can do it now but can't find how to set jumpers to get 6x(I'm assuming that fsb 66x6=396,right?)does anyone remember this old board?or know the jumper config?the comp was assembled jan 99 if trhat helps.oh its a celeron 366 with built in intel chipset 82443lx\ex.a pent 2celeron it says.any help would be appreciated, thanks

all intel processors are multiplier LOCKED...you can not change them...

changing the settings on the board will do you no good...
the CPU will ignore the 6x setting and run at 5.5 regardless...and your board might not boot becuase of the conflicting info

you have two options..(providing you keep the same board).
1: overclock the FSB to something higher than 66MHz... which you can't do from what you;ve said

2: since you have a celeron....then you can get a celeron of a higher clock speed

im sorry i was not clear as i should have been on the other post.the manual says that "config. mode move jumper, reboot ;bios setup utility starts automatically, opening maintainance menu (1)allows proccessor choice or(2)clears passwords"see maint. menu *processor speed, select the appropriate processor speed.,,,,,,,,,i was told by pb support that the 5.5x could also be changed here but tyhat higher fsb could affect video modes.not sure what excactly to do thought id try the processor speed first.just need a little more speed to run some games.i didnt know how much i would have to learn.i also mistated the comp was actually assembled 1-99.if u r fimilier with this type bios config any help would be appreciated
