heres the problem im going to overclock my p3 800mhz, but im going to make sure i know what im doing by testing out on my old pentium 166mhx mmx. I found an online manual (looks like the right one). the jumpers are missing 2 prongs where i was suppose to move it. Its a packard bell . what do you think, its either the worng manual (if so does anyone know where i can find one), or its protection agianst overclocking.
ive already got a new heatsink fan coming dual stacked with compound $15 from mwave for my p3.

i still would like to overclock my old mmx so the halflife server i run on it will load faster and to just make sure i got my **** together.

Super did a fine job of explaining why below

Hi, first thing I would like to say is please watch your language. instead of spelling the full "s" word, say S***. and please read This Thread. Thanks.

and as for your problem, the older chips might not overclock as well, and if it was a packard bell than probably they did remove it so you won't screw around with it, or they just didn't want to give you all of them, when you'd be fine without some.

Just stick around in the forum, and try overclocking your P3, you'll get better results. You might also go to your local computer/electronics store, they might have the jumpers you're looking for.

Hope this helps!
