just got thermalright sk6

just got the sk6,my temps dropped 5 degrees idle and 6 degrees full load,i'm now at 40 deg idle and 44 full load. i think my ambient is somewhere around 22-23 degrees.the mb is at 25 deg celsius. the sk6 cost $50 but i think it was worth it.

Did you lap the SK6?

When I got mine I thought "oh some light machining marks" and when I tried to lap it with 800 grit I discovered it was concave and I had to fall back to 220 grit for about a half hour to flatten it out. I didn't try a before and after temp drop and your temps look good so maybe it won't be necessary to lap yours.

I'm still waiting for mine (it's back ordered and it's been 2 bloody weeks!!!) can't wait for it to come in so I can overclock this beast again!!! hehe aint it strange that once you get a taste of a higher clockspeed you can never go back down to default without an inner paining?

The SK6 is a great heatsink but I agree with the other post. Mine had obvious machining grooves and was in serious need of some lapping.
