Just ordered this board, are there newer versions of this board out now then when it first hit the shelves? I was just wondering what I can expect with this new board. I just hope it will be fully compatable with my G3 card since ABIT has problems with running 4xAGP on the line I'm on now, KT7A. Let me know if I made a mistake will ya?

I don't think you made a bad decision, in fact I am getting one myself. You should not have any problems :)

Thing is, I just can't wait for the ABIT KG7 to come out. I need to rid myself of this KT7A before I blow it up with C4, and I'm in the Army so I DO have access to it. This MB, though, has not tainted my opinion of ABIT MB's as a whole. When the KG7 comes down in price to about 150 bucks, I'll pick it up, but until then I want to expand my experience and knowledge with other MB's too. I hope I made a good choice.

My Leadtek Geforce2 Ultra works at AGP 4X no problem on the 8K7A. I've had no compatibility problems at all so far.

I agree, I have had my 8K7A for about a month now and have had no problems. It is a good, stable board with great overclockability (even though I haven't yet). And my AGP 4x Elsa Erazor X works perfectly on it.

Have an OEM AsusTek V8200 GeForce3 that's working perfectly well with my EpOX-8K7A. Have to say I love this mobo, but I haven't had much experience with Athlon based systems, so I can't really make comparisons.

Hey tacoman..why on earth did u give up on your A7V133..thats an amazing board!

Well, to start, I couldn't change the vcore settings at all without rebooting and getting kicked back to default BOIS config. That was the major reason. In order for me to overclock, I need to raise the vcore but the darn board wouldn't let me do it at all. The thermostat on the board will not touch the CPU in order to give an apealing temp. I am to lazy to get a digitaldoc or something so I realy on that thermal diode ALOT, and the A7V133 just didn't supply what I wanted. I cannot for the life of me, on a non overclocked setup, get the darn memory to run at 133 with the Duron on 100FSB. It just refuses to boot and I have known good crucial memory in it running stock. The board is a piece of crap to me and unfortunatly, it's my first ever ASUS MB too so I have now been tainted by a poorly made board. Sorry if this upsets anyone but I am entitled to my opinions. It's just not for me, that's all.

There are jumpers on the board itself to change the vcore. Its an amazing board. According to tomwhardware.com its the best one for both overclocking AND games...im gonna get it.

Ive had my epox 8k7a+ now for 6 weeks and it is a excellent board for overclocking. The stability is second tp none, and i changed from the iwill KA266r which was a piece of unstable rubbish ! (i tried 3 different boards from my retailer all tha same ! and before everyone goes up in arms , i said the KA the ddr board not the KK which has had good reviews with thekt133a chipset ).the epox is running at 10.5 x148 air cooled at 36 idle n 39 loaded( mbm 5.0). buy it m8 !!!!!!!!!!

Epox 8k7a+ 1.4g t/bird ahyj 10.5x148 - 1554mhz stable at 36 idle 39 loaded
ibm 30.1g h/d 7200
elsa gladiac gf 3

That is a nice air-cooled o/c, foggy. I have a 1.33 tbird and i am about to replace my crummy pcchips board with an iwill, asus, or epox DDR board. based on the posts and looking at other reviews and pictures & stuff I will have to go with epox. SO, foggy, what HSF do you use on your rig? Thanks for the help.

The 1705 Bios has a 1/5 pci divider, and it also states that you are able to achieve a 250mhz fsb. Here's the link, but don't blame me if something goes wrong.

Does the newer bios have higher multiplyers?

Sorry pauldogg, I don't have the 8K7A yet. Most of my info about the 8K7A comes from amdmb.com EPOX forum. Lot's of valuable info about the 8K7A

The 8K7A's multiplier is set with DIP switches on the motherboard so a new BIOS isn't going to change anything. According to the manual 12.5x is the highest it supports.

yeah, but i've heard that the bios can be manipulated so 5 on dipswitches =13 and 5.5=13.5 see what I mean

Ok. I see the possibility there. Then I don't know if the new BIOS has any multiplier changes. It seems some of the features of these new BIOSes are undocumented (or just not mentioned) so you may need to flash and do some tests to find out.
