Just about any decent 80mm fan will work well on the ax7. I'm at the moment using a 35cfm sunon on it and getting good temps. I too didn't like the noise from my delta 80 cfm (INSANE noise) but I'm getting a *beefy* rheostat from Hoot for it this week.

Enjoy your new system.

Chuckerants, with the 80mm Sunon 35cfm I'm using and a side case 80mm intake (stock on the case, and not directly over my hs) I idle at 36-38c. Load gets up to 42 or 43c depending on room temps. BUT, I didn't have any AS2 around at the time I put the AX7 on, so I used the cheap thermal grease that came with it. When I get some AS, I will also take the time to do some lapping and then put it back on with AS, the delta80cfm and the rheostat. That oughtta get temps down a couple degrees.

thx for all the tips folks.....Im so psyched to get my last parts and get this rig going.....I think illtry the delta and see what temps i get and then try a sunon......the lain li pc-60 case has 2 intake and one exhaust fan but my Endermax 550W EG651P-VE has 2 fans one sucking the case air into it the other blowing it out the back so im hoping my cooling will be pretty good....:)
thx again

If you want something near silent, get a YS-Tech with a rheostat built in. It can become so quiet :) But you can turn it all the way up and get decent temps.

The delta's will give the best results, even at slower speeds. The focusing vanes is what this sink was designed for, like the MCX462. Delta makes a 45CFM fan with the vanes, this will yeild better temps than a higher CFM fan without the vanes. Or, get a 68 or 80 CFM and use a rheostat. It;s all in the vanes fellas...

I'm using an AX-7 now with a 92mm Delta Fan and an adaptor I made myself. I also hooked it up to a rheostat to control the noise, and it works very well!

Hello. I'm think about using AX-7 with Sunon 50Cfm fan and make a big tube to "blow air out" the rear case using another Sunon 50Cfm fan other end. I'm thinking about it because I concern about inside case temp. Is this a good idea?
