The manual makes it sound like this board is quite picky about the memory it will use. Has anyone had any problems with memory?

While I'm here ... the manual states that the board will support up to 1GB of memory ... but only lists DIMMs up to 256MB. I infer from this that I can fill all four DIMM slots (DDR and SD RAM), and it will all peacefully coexist. Has anyone actually tried this?

One last question - the manual says nothing about ECC memory. Does this mean it does not support it? I guess this might be a good one for ECS tech support ...

No you can not fill all four slots. It is specifically stated in the manual that you can use DDR or SDRAM not both together. If I remember correctly the manual just states a couple of kinds of ram that they tested in the board. This does not mean that other ram will not work otherwise the 256 crucial DDR I have in mine would not work. It does. I do not know if ecc registered will work or not so I will leave that for another overclocker to answer:D

You can only use DDR or SDRAM. I also have 256megs of DDR Crucial in mine. I looked thru my manual and didn't see any mention of the mobo accepting only upto 256megs of DDR RAM.

Ah! I guess I saw the max of 1GB ... and divided it by the 4 slots ... I'll go back and read more closely. I obviously missed a bit.

Thanks!

<turn pages> ... flip flip flip ... </turn pages> :D

It really says that, eh? Hmmm ... well ... back to studying the book.

... and yes, I see the distinction now about TESTED memory ... not "this is all that works" ...

Thanks, Kendan. :D
