I knew when i baught this board it was'nt gonna be a stellar clocker at all. i got it mostly because the onboard graphics supports dual head. yada yada.
I just got a 165 and she works pretty nice in here. chuck a memory divider in place and run the htt to 250, stable. 2250 core after i did the pinmod for 1.55 vcore. Of course, without the ability to go higher on the htt, that might be pointless.
In any event, i downloaded the most recent clockgen and cpuz to fiddle around. it detects the PLL chip on it. clicking read clocks does... nothing, but sometimes, i can apply any settings i change. so i fiddled around and got the htt to read up at 300+ on the PLL control. the Clocks window reads 2250 all the time no matter what, dxdiag reads 2.3 ghz, 3dmark reads 2.3 ghz.
its also kinda bizzare, when i had that set really high, clicking apply, it would take it. then open up cpuz and the htt fields were blank and greyed out heh.
Maybe there just isnt a way to get this thing over the specified 250 mhz. kinda sucks too that it wont run my ram at 1-1 at all. no matter the timings =\
Ah well. basicly, this is how i spent my evening =) the board is rock solid at the 250, would just be nice to be able to clockgen higher.
