Following up the original KT133 chipset from Via was never going to be an easy task in the Socket A market as it has been from the outset about the only worthwhile chipset out there.

Has anyone checked out this site that reviews the ka266 and provide a link to a german site that has a hacked bios for the ka266 and ka266-r
I guess these enable the missing memory timing settings in the bios to allow a more aggressive set up.

Let me know if this bios is any good , i am thinking about purchaseing this board however im not sure yet. I heard this board might have problems with the new sound blaster live 5.1 board. Is the onboard sound just as good as the live or not

As far as the problem with a Live! card, it's a known thing with the Via 686B southbridge. I am not sure if a KA266 series board has a Via southbridge, if it does, there are fixes for this at ViaHW.

No VIA bridges.

Chipset:
· ALi® MAGiK 1 Chipset;
· ALi® M1647 (North Bridge);
· ALi® M1535D+ (South Bridge);
· C-media® CMI8378 Sound chip.

I am also thinking of this Mobo.
