I just put in an XP2000+ in my KK266R mobo. I flashed the newest (1022) from iwill, but it shows the chip as an XP1885+, although cpuid shows it running at the correct 1.667mhz. I have it running at 1.693mhz(136*12.5) @ 1.75v now and it is very stable. 40c Idle and 45c-47c under load. I haven't tried filling the gaps yet. I figured I'd make sure it worked with my KK266R first. No problems so far. Is there a newer bios somewhere?

If you try to unlock the amd 2000+ xp palimino processor, be VERY carefull not to scratch the thin coating on the surface of the chip platform. there is a (GOLD COLORED) grounding plate just under the surface. If you make a mistake, start over. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ATTEMPT TO SCRATCH THE CONDUCTIVE SUBSTANCE YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO APPLY AWAY/APPART FROM OTHER AREAS OR CONTACTS. I used a magnified headband to perform the work on my 1800+ XP and a cheap microscope to check the work at 150x magnification. and I noticed that I had scratched the coating and exposed the grounding plate extremely close to the bridging contact. It took me 25 attempts to get all 5 pins bridged properly. without touching any of the scratches or other bridges. TOMSHARDWARE has a good video that you can download that shows you how to properly perform the unlock on the XP processors. Or you can place a search in these forums for the screen name falseprophet and there is a lot more info in some of the articles that will be of use. be carefull and good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

First of all, what mod did you do to your motherboard to get this chip running stable, I've had to mod my 5V line, I/O voltage over 3.6V, and add caps as well to stabilize my XP 1700+ at default. I can't OC either.

Feel free to inform us.

KK266R and CPU

I have a KK266-R. I am looking to by a cpu for it. I have seen some things that say XP's work great with it but I have also heard some kind of scary stories of it not working no matter what. So exactly what cpu should I get that has the highest speed but will work with my mobo.
