Exactly, where do you draw the line?
Its not that extreme. Its just choosing the right thing for more performance without noise and much cost. This will be portable even, once its mounted to my case. In terms of size, I think the Pictures exagerate its size a little. Heres a pic with my case. The radiator is basically the size of a Mid Tower case, nothing too gigantic. I think the previous pictures make it seem as big as a Bus/Truck Radiator.
6 inches longer than my case. If I was using a Full Tower, it would cover the side completely
This radiator is big for a radiator, but considering it will be primarily passive, and likely mounted to the case, I expect temps comparable to normal 120mm radiators. For $75 (always available for that price on ebay search "koyo radiator" through one seller) , I think this is a better deal than paying for overpriced 120mm rads.
This is just my opinion, but I think Phase Change cooling which is widely popular can be considered "extreme" more so than this setup since it uses more power than the computer itself, and costs as much as as 2 High End video cards in SLI
.
Water cooling is beautiful because it uses almost no additional power, and doesn't bankrupt you.
Its just fun to take it a bit furthur, and try new things in this area that will produce cooler temps with less noise, without adding in much cost.
I'm almost done, I'm now only waiting for Zerex and Tube Fittings to arrive
