I received another KT7A-R today. This one came in an Abit plastic bag but it was not a bubble pack bag. In addition, there was no box, just all of the parts. The board has a very early serial number and was DOA. Is it possible this was someone’s RMA or is there a possibility of an OEM version?

Abit charges $25 bucks to RMA, and it sure sounds like you wound up with somebodys return to the dealer...or, the board was used in the dealers shop for testing, ect. I have never heard of an OEM motherboard. That dosn't mean there is not some...it just means I have never seen one listed for sale.

If it was me, I'd be on the horn to Abit customer service pronto.

Sounds to me like someone is tring to get over on you. Both boards I have came in bubble bags and a box. I would have called just as soon as I got the board.
