Im running my fsb at 110, my athalon 1000 is running at 1100. iv got one stick of cas2 pc 133 mem. ive also got a 80 mill fan blowing on the mobo-video card, how high will this board possibly go, alittle nervous about going higher

as soon as i get better cooling ill be posting and running much higher can post as high as 1472 155x9.5 if you set her too high and cant post just clear the CMOS (read your manual ) and youll be set back to default settings have no fear just watch your temps (get MBM, link on front page) put your rig in your signature

you should be able to go MUCH higher than 110MHz. I have the same processor and motherboard as you. my "sweet spot" seems to be at 152 x 8.0.

im only talking about upping the fsb. my processor multiplyer is still locked.

Im running a FSB of 140 mhz on a 800 Duron @ 1050 mhz and its stable.. have a go see how high you can get and watch your temps

catdog,

of course you realize that if you remain locked you will run out of processor way before you even approach the limits of the FSB.

if you want to get the most out of your system - you need to unlock the multiplier. It's no big risk as long as you do your homework first. your processor won't go any faster than before, but you will see big performance gains by being able to jack up that FSB.

my (air-cooled, Alpha PAL 6035) 1 GHz TBird is not stable past 1.25 GHz. you don't want to limit yourself to a FSB speed of 125 when you could be doing 150+, do you?

your very right, I cant seem to stop trying to overclock **** in yhis rig, its like a sickness! where can i find some info on unlocking the multiplyer. I have tweaked and overclocked every other possible part I CAN THINK OF! Unlocking the processor is next , ty for 5the encouragement

catdog,

I'm sure there's a ton of info at this very site. myself, I just got some rear-window defroster repair paint ($7 at AutoZone) and put down one big blob - covering all 4 of the bridges. next, I took the edge of a very fine flathead screwdriver and scratched 3 lines - isolating each of the 4 bridges. now my one big blob is 4 small blobs. looks something like this :|:|:|: do you follow? you will want to do all this under a good magnifying glass, and don't fire it up until you are certain that the 4 blobs are completely 100% separated. if current flows from one bridge to the next you will most likely regret it. go for it - as long as you are careful you'll have nothing to fear.
