KT7A temps

I've a KT7A board with Tbird 1200@1400 and in-socket thermistor reads about 49 degrees C.
Is this "real " temp or measurament is inaccurate?

I've ALPHA h/s , 6030 or something like this...... (50$ !!)
 
sounds right , but too high if idle, and right on the line if load.
 
That high a temp will impact overclockability of the CPU. Depending upon what your ambient temp in the PC room and the extent of your case airflow, it could be right on, or you could improve upon it considerably with a better HSF and/or case ventilation. I keep my PC room at 20C and my case temp runs about 2C above that. Under that scenario, with a modest HSF, you should be able to keep the CPU down in the 30s under load.
