tin-plating

And copper is a much better heat conductor than tin...

Cutting off the top of the fan cage might help too, since it seems that it might restrict airflow to the fan.

On my blorb, I found that removing the fan bolts and attaching the fan with a dab of clear silicone increased the fan's rpms by about 100. My guess- because the fan's motor doesn't get as hot when its not in direct contact with the base. Not sure if the corb's fan-to-base set-up is the same as the blorb's though.

Well u could just remove the top cover, that may give u 1c or so.. but if your really that into cooling it, get a alpha 153U cooler, its a lil bigger, and has a very small 30-40cfm fan that will do 2x as good as the Corb. altho if ur talking about ur Corb being on your NB then the lapping wont do much. NB's dont need to be cooled inless u have HIGH fsb speeds.. the only way ud get better fsb is if u like pelted the NB but thats exterem

it is ver hard to get the nickel off the corb, i tried 2 days ago, it comes off on the connectors easy, but it is tough on the bottom. and people use the tin ram sinks on the mem chips, so the corb should be fine the way it is.
