so i bought some arctic silver 5 to reapply to my laptop cpu because i was having high idle temps well now since then idles dropped from high 70s low 80s to high 50s low 60s my only question is you think 2-3 c flux between the two cores ok its an amd turion 64 bit dual core im not to worried about it because of the heat drop just curious since it is my first cpu ive spread with more then one core yea its been that long since ive had to apply thermal paste so just wondering is there a normal flux between cores normally and how much leeway would you give the degrees between cores

Edit : the degrees i was mentioning were the gpu but i figured i reapply everything my cpu temps idle between 44-49 i dont remember what they were before the reapply

Sounds pretty good for a laptop. You might try the laptop forum section as they deal more with laptops than we do here in the straight motherboard section.

wow i must of overlooked that sub thanks for the insight tho ya ill have to check out the laptop sub and this is the cpu section so figured it would be somewhat acceptable here as well

Is alright here. However when I am needing information about a specific such as that particular laptop, I try to go where there are more of them in use. I might even try the branded laptop forum since they see the things day in and day out. Some specific models may have a quirk of their own.
