This is less about a shoutout to LM as a whole, but more a specific product.

I got the Signal multitool back in June, and yesterday it proved it's worth. For a cross-forum reference, had a pretty bad accident @ work yesterday. And honestly, the LM Signal ended up being the one tool I needed.

I'm higher level and stand-offish. I'll say that much. But there were times when I needed a pair of pliers, some wire cutters, a small Phillips head. Just to be that extra set of hands, and it worked. Kinda janky, but things were moving.

And for that, got to give them a shout out, It works.

I loved my Leatherman Wave. I kept losing them though. I left my last one on a wall out in Lancaster.

I'm actually in the same boat. Got a Surge back in January, got it customized with the circuit design on one side of the handle and my name on the other. Lost it at work and even though it had my name engraved on it, it disappeared...

It's actually why I went with the Signal. Figured it's lighter so I can clip it to a lanyard on a belt loop without having a "wardrobe malfunction".

I have a Gerber. I bought it to keep in the boat since it is specifically rust resistant. :chair:
You're terrible!

Joking, they all have their uses. I had a bunch of Victorinox multi tools when in college, they're light and small, good for precision work. Switched to Leatherman now because they just feel more solid while still having a great warranty. No real wrong answer.

I thought I could get on a plane to Jamaica in '83 with a Leatherman in my pocket. It was considered an International flight and I either had to hand it over or miss the flight. o_O

I have several "Swiss Army Knives", mostly gifts from contractors I used to work with. I'll dig them out & see if any of them are nice models worth carrying.

It's one thing to break or lose a multi-tool, but having to giving it up to airport security is a bummer. It was '83 & Jamaica so I'm surprised you couldn't just ask the pilot to hold it for you. lol

This. I thought the story was going in a different direction, lol.

Again, been there lol.

Was going from my grandparents place in Florida back to college in VT, and only real way to get back and forth was to fly into Logan and then take a little puddle jumper up to West Leb, NH.

The company that operated that leg wasn't big enough to have their own bag carriers in Logan, so I had to go out to baggage claim, grab my checked bag, and bring it back through security as carry on. Forgot I had a little multitool in it and was given the same option.

Decided to just chuck it, was one of those little $20 Swiss army knives that would've cost almost as much to mail as to buy a new one.
