I wanted to have a big fan in front of my case, also I want it to be adjustable, and finally I wanted leds!
I have bought a couple of enermax (they got 9CM fans (120mm wouldn’t fit in my case - bah!) and I drilled a hole in the front with the dremel tool (aluminum case made the job done easy) and I also drilled a circular hole on the front plastic bezel since it didn’t had any vent holes. That hole + leds would look pretty cool I thought, so I went ahead and purchased bunch of ultra bright leds from a guy, I bought 4 of blue red and yellow, and 3 of white, for other jobs. I have a soldering iron here and bunch of resistors (hey, my dad is ex-electrician, and its his hobby now) With my average soldering skills I put a 60 ohm resistor on each led, attached them to a old harddrive power connector and drilled 4.8cm (3/16 in.) holes in the fan. I took electrical tape and taped the leds in place (they were sticking out a bit, but didn’t touch the blades, because the holes were smaller than the leds). I then attached connector to power supply and fired it up. Looks very very nice.
And uh, sorry for blurey pics
