Hi!

since I bought me a dvd-burner for x-mas, I just recognized, that unfortunately my normal dvd-rom doesn´t read the self-burned dvds. In the manual it says, that it reads dvd-r(w).

Is there any chance, I can make the LG DRD 8160B (firmware 1.01) read the dvd+r(w)s?

Merry Christmas to y´all!!

Adíos, Bye and thanks for answer

Well, according to Nero's dirve and media info utility, my 3 year old Pioneer 16x DVD-ROM can't read DVD+R or +RW, even after updating to the latest firmware. But happily enough it does indeed reed both just fine, and since my home player does as well I won't be using any - media. I use and recommend Memorex DVD+R and +RW disks, compatibility and burn reliablity have been super. I picked up some 10 packs of the Memorex 4X DVD+R disks for 14.94 each with full size jewel cases from staples. The disks are a Ricoh product, and will burn at 8X successfully in 8X drives.

You can find all there is to know about DVD burners, home players, and media at www.dvdrhelp.com. You can look up your particular model drive and find out exactly what media it works with and which is problematic from both a format and make and model of media perspective.
