hello all,

I recently purchased a Lian Li cdrom bay cover, the one that has the door that opens when you press the button so you can hide your cdrom and make it match, well I just installed one on my Lian Li PC-82, in the top bay, and the bezel wont fit back on properly and the door dosnt even open. I dont know if theres something ive done wrong, everything seems to be fitting fine, or this is just a horribly engineered product.

Any ideas? Besides moving my rom and everything around.

Did you slide your CDROM drive back an inch or so, as the Bezel is installed so that its in contact with the CDROM drive, and the side parts of the bezel are then mounted with the supplied pushpins to the case.

Towards the bottom of this page is a decent pic of how it all gets installed, http://www.dansdata.com/llc01f01.htm

The 2 I got work pretty good, I have heard though that some LIAN LI cases do not have the holes predrilled for mounting the bezels though. Although I didn't have to remove the plastic front panel on my CDROM drives like in that page above.

Yeah i pushed back the drive so that the panel mounting area sat flush against the case and the plastic rivit/screw like things went in fine. The panel is also in line with the rest of the bay covers. i dont know why it dosn't fit.

How is it interfering, is it the top part of the bezel interfering with the CDROM cover door?

They have a really tight fit, I've found that if I put the top of the case bezel on then put the bottom part on it works, but if I put it top and bottom part at the same time, I get some interference with the drive covers.

I had the exact same problem when I took out my cd rom drive to move some things around. After an hour oh being perplexed as to why it didn't fit, I realized that I was lining it up to the wrong holes. make sure the holes are lined up to the right ones

Ive lined it up with the right holes, the push screws go in fine and it fits like it should, i have also tried putting on the top clips of the bezel first. When I put the top in without the bottom it works but as soon as all four are in it dosnt work. the top part of the door is slightly above the edge of the bezel so it wont allow the door to open.

I can take pictures if that helps. I really don't know what to do now.even the new faceplate thing isnt exactly lined up with the rest of the bays, it sticks out a bit yet the mounting portion of the thing flat against the metal on the case.
