I just purchased a Black Ice Prime that I intended to mount in the lower front of my Lian Li case. Unfortunately, it appears that the smallest dimension, 5.0", is too long for it to fit under the floppy drive bays. It appears that there is only 4.875 inches of clearance below this bay (too short by about an 1/8").

Has anyone successfully mounted a heat sink in this location? If so, what heat sink did you use and how did you shroud the intake air flow path to the front of the case? I was planning on using foam rubber blocks to make a "plenum" in front of the radiator and fan (where the original two 80mm fans were mounted) but I would like to learn new ideas from other peoples experience.

Assuming you drew fresh air in and then over the radiator, what internal case temperatures did you experience?

I have a BeCooling AquaCoil in the front of my PC-60 case and it just fits, had to remove the lower drive cage to fit it but it fits.

That rad is 6.75"x5"x4.5" Now a 5" tall rad should fit I just checked in my case and it's 5 1/4" from the floor of the case to the bottom of the floopy cage. the size out on the Black Ice is 5.9"x5"x0.98" so it should fit on it's side.

I found with this rad and setup I didn't need to shroud the intake air flow. It just worked out. Plus I didn't do it for a lack of room with my setup.

Temp are not too bad, most of the time it's at 26c. I did change the fans to (2) 80mm Panaflo FBA-08A12H and the rad has a 120mm Panaflo FB12G12M

I will plan on doing that when I get my new rad the Black Ice Xtreme and I can move my pump more to the front of the case.
