Hi, does anyone think that it would be possible to install the halflife linux dedicated server and then maybe use all the game resources (copied from the CD) to have a copy of halflife running natively under Linux, or would the dedicated server binaries be unable to support normal gameplay? was just asking for opinions before i bother trying :)

Using something called "Cedega" for linux, Half Life 2 works out of the box. Wine may also work, but you'd have to check on that.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure you can get it running under Wine, and I think cedega is an extension of WineX. I wanted to be able to get the game running natively.

Cedega IS winex just a name change and a change in the way they release the code AFAIK.
