Is 86C ok for an i7 920 in Linx? Running 4.0GHz w/o turbo @ 1.4vcore. Not a great cpu, but I have a good cooler, its a true copper w/ AS5 and two high speed yates on it.

I would think that is "safe" but it always could be cooler! :sn:

Are you running hyper-threading enabled?

ya, I do alot of video transcoding w/ handbrake, so I prefer more threads.
Ohh and 86C is the maximum in realtemp after Linx finishes, May try lapping my cpu, adding back in the washer mod. My D0 is kinda a lemon.

case temps seem in high 60s at most. Silverstone TJ09 is an amazing case.

I'm guessing that's 60 Fahrenheit which would be pretty cool :)

I guess if you have a good cooler and case the best you can shoot for it getting the vcore down while remaining stability. Although, 86c is pretty warm you'll probably be okay.

86C is ok, but a bit higher than what I'm used to seeing. I suppose it's due to the 1.4 Vcore. My C0 @ 4GHz gets up to mid 70s under a TRUE with MX-2 and a single Scythe S-Flex SFF21F. That's at around 1.35v.
