Well, my drive is really picky....and loud. I mean REALLY LOUD. IT IS LOUDER THAN LIKE ALL OF THE FANS IN MY CASE LOUD, AND THERE ARE LIKE * OF THOSE! :eep:
Anyway, it is also not tolerant of scratches at all. Just a tiny scratch and it will bug out and stuf. You will hear it spinning (even if u r deaf) and then it will slow down, speed up, slow down, speed up, and so on continually and i need to reboot. Well, i kinda once broke it by pulling the tray out while it was closed and off, so I had to take it toally apart and reassemble it. Thats when it started. Also, sometimes if the CD is in there and I reboot, it will read it next time. Is there a way I could help fix this, maybe clean the lense some how, or is it time for a new DVD-ROM?
