Yes, I am having all these problems all at once for some reason... (check my previous posts). This time the problem is my fairly new Lite On LTR-52246S CD burner. The problem just popped up when I started modding my case... I put in Round IDE cables and ever since then I am getting these errors in Nero when trying to burn something... Communication failure, this now seems to be happens with all burns now... before it said something like invalid parameter or something... but now it doesn't seem to be doing that.... I am going to try to use the old cables and see if that works.... the only other thing I can think of is that its because its hooked up to a PCI IDE controller cause i am using all of my motherboard ide because of my harddrives. But the card has worked fine in the past... Any suggestions?

Ok.... I replaced the round ide cable going to my cdrom's with my old cable.... it burned it a little longer than before.. but still gave me a communication failure error. I have round ide cables on my harddrives too... I wonder if those could be the cause too. Since its reading off of them. I am going to try replaces those aswell.

Err..... Ok... I replaced all my original cables... then I upgraded the firmware.... I hit burn... right away it said invalid track info or something, but kept burning... it got to 30% or so and said communication failure... what now?

More Error Messages... current command aborted, could not perform start track... Should I maybe try using my motherboard ide controller versus the PCI one? I can't understand why it is doing this... It was working perfectly fine until I install my Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS card and my cables and cathode light... Maybe the new soundcard is somehow messing up my pci ide controller...

Success! I finally fixed it! YAY! :p The problem was my PCI IDE Controller... somehow its messed up.... Don't know how or why. I hooked my CDRW and CDROM up to my motherboard IDE and it burned perfectly. So I guess those cables are fine after all. Phew.. but now I gotta figure out whats with that PCI controller. Prehaps I should try another PCI slot.
