Yeah, I got it yesterday. I was in a bit of a hurry.. seem's alright except for that I first tried to burn a cd-r @ 48x and it failed. But it might as well have been a poor quality cd-r even toagh it said on the cover that the disc should support 48x speed.
I love the dvd toagh!

I dunno, depends on what your burning at what speed, I know that VCDs and audio CDs don't seem to agree with being burnt at high speeds, while data cds do quite well even at high speeds.

You made a good choice. I supply Lite-On optical drives exclusively on all systems I build. They are fast and utterly reliable.

Tip: "When burning CDs using the Windows XP interface, do not put the CD into the tray until after completing the "write these files to cd" wizard. Upon the notification that there is no writable CD in the drive, put the CD in and close the drive. The burn process will begin automatically. I've burned hundreds of cds this way and not had 1 failure.

Thanks, I'll do that. I don't know what wen't wrong, but after that I've been burning at 32x speed and it has worked just fine.
