Lite On CDRW

For some reason, everytime I open the drive with a CD in it,
it opens and then closes again. If I press the open button
the second time, it opens normally. Does anyone know how
I can fix this problem?

it's really dumb, cuz sometimes i forget that it does that
so i press open, it opens, and as i take the cd out, the drive
closes. i mean, i can live with it, but if anyone knows how

i find that my lite-on cdrw does weird stuff too... when i boot up my computer (not very often since i leave it on 24/7) it opens the cd-rw drive and shuts it as it is booting... i always thought it was odd... wish i could tell ya why...

try calling or emailing liteon, if there are no other choices rma it, and when you get the new one back let us know how it goes sorry for the little help but i have never heard of this before...any reason you type like you do? you hit enter half way though the line every time

update to the latest bios (instruction on lite-on website)
unplug and plug back both IDE cable and Molex connector.

Sounds like a faulty momentary switch to me (the open button). RMA it & let us know how you get on - i'd be interested to hear.
