okay well i would like to change the first boot up screen you know where it says dell, compaq what have you. So my question is how do you change it its something in windows or something i just want to add my own image or just leave it black if i could i hate seeing the logo and all. I would also like to know how to get some of the wierd shortcuts out of the start menu it wont let me right click on it maybe something in the registry would let me delete it if you have any suggestions plzzz let me know thnx. Moe.

P.S im not talking about the login screen or boot screen before all that .

the begining screen it sounds like you're talking about is the BIOS screen. those can't be changed to my knowledge. unless you can flash the BIOS to something that doesn't have that.

if you decide you do want a boot screen try www.themexp.org

you can change it

HI almondboy72 you can change the bios screen if ya mb support that feature. Gigabyte and some azus mobo's support that cool feature and you can put whatever the prefered pic over there. So what is your mobo type? It'll depend on it.
your second question is not very clear but I assume you want to get a shortcut of a program or a file reside in the start menu. In that case you have to right click the desktop and under new categoary select shortcut and find the relavant path to that program of file then you can get a chortcut along with whatever the icon you like to put into it.

Well I think your mobo is not supporting only few brands give away that feature. Well you an get that kind of mobo if ya need it so badly. But I don't see much thing in there unles you go for lan parties so u can "wow" others with anice bootup screen.

you can change it to just having a boot seqence to show up, but you cant change the pictures :-(

i tried changing the boot screen once and ended up rebooting my whole comp so yeah im not gonna do that. I have doubt s about it .
