ATI on the other hand is saying they are making true PCI eXpress cards with the R420V and R380V series. This is just rumors so take it with a grain of salt.

Not rumor at all...ATi does have a seperate core, dubbed R423, that is natively PCI-Express. I dont know about them doing it on the "RV" cores yet, as those are the mainstream/budget cards, and will probably be AGP only in the first round at least

Looks like they are taking on ATi's RageTheater chip head on. Though it still lacks hardware DivX encoding/decoding, it does look promising (if its true). Hopefully their next step is to make a program like MMC and then I'll start considering them for my multimedia needs (which is currently why I prefer ATi over nVidia, because I do a lot more then just game)

Actually it was a 9700 Pro...ATi used the same type of setup that nVidia is going to use...an AGP to PCI-Express bridge on on the card
